Professional photography helps listings communicate instantly with potential buyers and helps retain attention over listings without professional images.

The advantages of professional photography for real estate listings are many. But even in today's competitive world, we've found realtors choosing to go it alone and be the jack of all trades, doing their own photography with point and shoot or iPhone cameras. While you can take great photos with nearly any camera, most realtors simply don't have the time or expertise needed to hone the skills a professional photographer spends years developing. Never mind the need for all the extras, like drone pilot certifications, lighting gear, editing software and hardware - there's a lot that goes into a great image! A few months ago, we had a senior agent reluctantly allow his junior agent to shoot photos with us (previously he'd been doing his own photos with his iPhone). He thought professional photos were just icing on the cake, and his business was doing fine so why spend the money? Imagine his surprise when the listing we took photos of garnered four times as many views online as his previous (and nicer) listing which he'd shot himself! He's now a convert and we continue to shoot for their agency and help them move their listings, improving their closing price and time to sell! But don't just take our word for it, check out these resources from Market Leader and Redfin on the importance of professional real estate photography:
